Worm Moon Snowshoe Hike (Lunar Eclipse Edition!)

Step into a winter wonderland on a special lunar eclipse edition of our guided snowshoe hike! Join us for a 3-mile round-trip adventure to the historic Glen Location. Led by a member of MDC’s Recreation Team, you will hear fascinating stories about our local history and will learn interesting tidbits about the nature surrounding you. Afterward, we’ll all cozy up around a crackling bonfire at the Thompson Homestead to enjoy hot cocoa, apple cider, and s’mores.
💵 Cost: $18 for members | $20 for nonmembers
🌕 Difficulty: This is an intermediate-level hike that will last approximately 1.5 hours and will traverse about 200 feet in elevation change. Be prepared for a workout!
⏰ Arrive early! Be sure to arrive by 4:30 pm to get set up and receive instructions on using your snowshoes. The hike itself starts at 5:00pm!
🧣 Dress warmly! Wear winter weather gear, including winter boots, water-resistant pants, gloves/mittens, thick socks, a hat, a winter coat, and so on.

Cold Weather Policy: If temperatures fall below zero, we may cancel or reschedule the hike. Full refunds are available if the event is canceled.
Alternative Spot: There needs to be a certain depth of snow to snowshoe along the trolley tracks. If the snow is too light, we’ll head out to the Redhead trail system instead.
