SUMMARY:Wild Roots Learning Community
DESCRIPTION:Wild Roots Learning Community \n📅 Dates: Sep. 10\, Sep. 24\, Oct. 8\, Oct. 22\, Nov. 12\, Dec. 10 (all Thursdays)\n⏰ Time: 10:00am-12:00pm (each time)\n👧 Age Range: 3-12 y/o (younger/older siblings welcome!)\n💵 Cost: $5/kid 3-and-older\n⭐ FREE for MDC Members\, kids 2-and-under\, and accompanying grown-ups \nWild Roots is a play-based learning group where kids discover the world around them through child-led exploration. This year\, we’re exploring forces—wind\, gravity\, water\, weight\, and balance. A little wild. A little wobbly. A whole lot of wonder. 🔎✨ \nPotential weekly activities include making kites\, building giant marble runs\, testing boats in MDC’s outdoor pond\, creating snow forts\, building walkable bridges\, and more. But the plan is always flexible. We bring the materials\, give starting guidance\, and provide encouragement\, but the kids’ natural curiosity\, burgeoning initiative\, and trial-and-error problem solving skills bring the activities to life. \nSessions may take place indoors or outdoors\, so please ensure you and your kids wear/bring appropriate clothing—even once snow falls! ☀️❄️ \nGrown-ups are required to supervise their kids\, but they get in free! \n\n🪁 Session 1 (September 10) — Kites: Designing\, building\, and racing kites to see whose creations will catch the wind. Spoiler: Not every kite flies on the first try—and that’s the best part. \n💨 Session 2 (September 24) — Pinwheels & Windsocks: Creating a field full of homemade pinwheels and windsocks. Kids get to redesign and relaunch anything that didn’t fly quite right the first time. \nMore session topics will be announced as the season goes on!
