As promised\, we’ve scheduled an overflow session for campers who are interested in learning about the “dirt sciences”—geology\, paleontology\, and archaeology—but weren’t able to sign up for the earlier session. During this three-day educational\, entertaining\, and hands-on camp\, participants will get up close and personal with fossils\, artifacts\, and rocks found right here on the Iron Range.

This short and sweet adventure guides children through MDC’s Heritage Park\, pausing to explore historic buildings along the way. It includes creative storytelling about the everyday history of the people who contributed to making our Iron Range community. 👧🏽🩷 \nThe ideal age range for this tour is 3-7 years old\, but younger and older children are welcome. Adult supervision is required. \nThis tour is FREE for MDC Members and $10/group for nonmembers. What’s a group? Your family unit\, no matter how that looks. 😊

DESCRIPTION:🗓️ Dates: June 25\, July 16\, and August 6 (all Thursdays)\n⏰ Times: 5:00pm (each time)\n📍 Place: Redhead MTB Park (meet at the trailhead!)\n⭐ Age Range: 16 years old +\n💵 Cost: FREE \nLace up your sneakers and get ready to embark on a hike with Kari Kilen\, Lead Guide of the Redhead Redfeet hiking group! This MDC-sponsored hike is free and open to folks aged 16+ and older. It’s a moderately difficult hike—not too easy\, not too hard—that takes place on Chisholm’s beautiful Redhead MTB Park trail system. 🚶🏽‍♀️‍➡️🌄 \nImportant note: To participate in MDC-sponsored Redhead Redfeet hikes\, you must sign a waiver! Waivers and pens will be handed out and collected at the trailhead. Also\, there’s no need to register; just show up at the trailhead! \n— \nBy the way\, don’t forget to pick up your “Hiking Passport” at MDC’s front desk before you head out! Use your Hiking Passport to track your hiked miles throughout the summer and earn stickers along the way. The more you hike\, the greater your season-end rewards will be.
