We’ll have activity stations set up throughout Taconite Square exploring all-things Cretaceous-era\, including actual fossils\, VR headset simulations\, and sensory activities for tiny paleontologists. \nSpeaking of tiny paleontologists\, this year’s Family Discovery Day: Fossils X3 is extra special because it’s held in conjunction with the last day of our Early Childhood Education (ECE) Dino Discovery! Summer Day Camp. DESCRIPTION:We’ve got the food\, Cowboy Angel Blue has the tunes\, and now we just need you to join us on Thursday\, July 16th\, for this week’s Bands\, Brews\, & BBQ session! (Bring a friend!) 🤠 \nCowboy Angel Blue includes Bill Maxwell\, James Paavala\, and Billy Bulinski. They’re an amplified acoustic group who has been making music on the Iron Range for over a decade. They enjoy covering the likes of Dylan\, Young\, Cash\, Prine\, Townes\, Earle\, Holly\, Haggard\, and so on. In their own words\, they “play good music at appropriate volumes.” \nAdmission is FREE—to the music venue\, as well as the Museum\, the Research Center\, the Playground\, and the Play Studio—every Thursday evening from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. \nThe Evening’s Schedule:\n🆓 4:00pm ~ Free admission starts\n🥗 4:30pm ~ The Food Court opens\n🎸 5:30pm ~ Cowboy Angel Blue starts playing\n👏 7:30pm ~ Cowboy Angel Blue take their bows\n🙋🏼‍♂️ 8:00pm ~ Things wrap up\, we say goodbye (until next time!) \nCome grab your BBQ pork ribs\, hot waffle fries\, and your favorite drink\, and hang out with your friends while supporting your local musicians! 🎶☀️

DESCRIPTION:🗓️ Dates: June 25\, July 16\, and August 6 (all Thursdays)\n⏰ Times: 5:00pm (each time)\n📍 Place: Redhead MTB Park (meet at the trailhead!)\n⭐ Age Range: 16 years old +\n💵 Cost: FREE \nLace up your sneakers and get ready to embark on a hike with Kari Kilen\, Lead Guide of the Redhead Redfeet hiking group! This MDC-sponsored hike is free and open to folks aged 16+ and older. It’s a moderately difficult hike—not too easy\, not too hard—that takes place on Chisholm’s beautiful Redhead MTB Park trail system. 🚶🏽‍♀️‍➡️🌄 \nImportant note: To participate in MDC-sponsored Redhead Redfeet hikes\, you must sign a waiver! Waivers and pens will be handed out and collected at the trailhead. Also\, there’s no need to register; just show up at the trailhead! \n— \nBy the way\, don’t forget to pick up your “Hiking Passport” at MDC’s front desk before you head out! Use your Hiking Passport to track your hiked miles throughout the summer and earn stickers along the way. The more you hike\, the greater your season-end rewards will be.
